Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

-Howard Thurman

Welcome! I’m Lacey, a therapist with many identities including white, queer, fat, agender, and semi-able bodied with chronic conditions. I enjoy supporting my fellow queers and other people with a variety of difficulties that come with being a human in this world. Providing a supportive therapeutic space includes many things, but first and foremost neurodivergent affirming, gender affirming, trauma informed, and sex/kink positive care. My practice is also centered on anti-racist, disability justice and fat liberation tenets.

My Approach

I truly enjoy supporting others in creating a new relationship with their emotions, body, and self. I look at the emotional experience and what information is often missed when emotions and the body is not given attention. Sometimes this emotion focused work looks like engaging in mindfulness  with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, even when you’re drowning in critical thoughts. Sometimes we engage in parts work based in Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand more about where this feeling is coming from, what it’s trying to do for you, and how to work with it. I absolutely incorporate other approaches as it is helpful to the client. Examples include mindfulness, attachment theory, DBT/CBT/ACT, somatic, psychodynamic and psychoeducation interspersed.

For in depth trauma work, I utilize Mentalization-Based Narrative Exposure Therapy (MBNET), which is a exposure modality to address complex interpersonal trauma (https://www.thekilnschool.com/podcast/episode-7).
