Who Am I?
I’m Lacey (they/them). I’ve lived all of my life across various states in the Pacific and Inland Northwest. It’s a beautiful part of the country I’m lucky to call home. I have too many interests and can’t give full attention to them all, but a few ones I prioritize are spending time with my cats and loved ones, building/creating, and in the summer spending as much time as I can swimming in beautiful bodies of water.
Education & Experience
My undergraduate experience was at Idaho State University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May 2013. While I knew I likely wanted to be a therapist, I decided to get some experience prior to pursing graduate programs. I worked in a couple of different social service positions that allowed me to support different populations including houseless people struggling with addiction, and children struggling with trauma in a sub-acute setting. Between these positions and doing administrative work for a group practice, my desire to help others as a therapist was solidified. I attended Lewis & Clark College’s professional mental health counseling program and graduated with a Master in Arts in December 2019. Since then, I have dedicated significant time to increasing my understanding and clinical skills around neurodivergence, specifically Autism and ADHD. I’ve taken many continuing education courses since obtaining my master’s. One key course that has fundamentally improved my practice was Mentalization Based Narrative Exposure Therapy (MBNET) for interpersonal trauma.
